Consent Form

A consent form is a standard document issued prior to the commencement of any healthcare service.
A consent form describes the rights and responsibilities of clients, and includes topics such as confidentiality, our cancellation policy and other important matters.
Please read through the Consent Form below, and if you have any questions please Contact Us, thank you.

DLtherapies.co.uk is an on line administration and scheduling service for counsellors and their clients. When clients book an appointment with a counsellor, the individual counsellor becomes responsible for the delivery of the counselling service.
While the management of DLtherapies.co.uk take care to only list counsellors who meet certain educational and professional criteria (i.e. Registered Psychologists with AHPRA or Accredited Counsellors with the ACA), the counsellors who list their services on DLtherapies.co.uk are not employees or representatives of OnlineCounselling.com.au, therefore the owners and managers of DLtherapies.co.uk are not responsible or liable for any act, omission or doing of any counsellor.

Apart from specific exceptions described below, you have the absolute right to confidentiality of your information. You are assured that all personal information gathered by DLtherapies.co.uk will remain confidential and secure.
However, it is important to know there are exceptions in which all psychologists and counsellors are mandated (by law) to break confidentiality. This can occur when:
1. The information you have given to your psychologist or counsellor is subpoenaed (officially requested) by a court of law.
2. Failure to disclose the information would place you or another person at serious risk of harm.
3. Your prior approval has been obtained to:
a) provide a written report to another professional or agency, e.g. a GP or a lawyer; or
b) discuss the material with another person, e.g. a parent or employer.

When you book an online counselling appointment, a confirmation email is sent to your registered email address with the subject line "Booking confirmed - 'ETOC'", together with the appointment details. A reminder email is also sent 8 hours prior to your appointment with the subject line "Reminder", together with the appointment details. Please ensure your email system is secure, as DLtherapies.co.uk cannot be held responsible for others reading any part of your email, even the subject line.
(NB. " ETOC " is an acronym for our registered business name, (‘E-Therapy and On line Counselling’)

Payment via PayPal

When you pay for an online counselling session via PayPal, an item will appear on your credit card statement with the provider ID ETOC*PAYPAL, together with the amount paid. PayPal usually sends a confirmation of payment email to your registered PayPal email address.

Online Booking System

Only a subset of your personal information (your first name, first initial of your surname, email address and Zoom ID) is registered with our online booking service. Your full name, address and phone number are NOT stored in the booking system - client contact information is securely stored offline.

Zoom is a secure (encrypted) video conferencing system, and is virtually impossible for anyone to intercept and decrypt the video transmission between two people. Please see the Zoom Security page for more information. However, as with all forms of internet communication, if someone has access to your Zoom login details or has installed a virus on your computer, then it is possible your Zoom transmission can be compromised. DLtherapies.co.uk is not responsible or liable for compromised Zoom communication between you and your counsellor. It is VERY important you keep your Zoom login details secure and private, and routinely check your computer system for viruses and Trojans.

All of the above exceptions to confidentiality are extremely rare, but it's important for you to be aware of these limitations of confidentiality under exceptional circumstances.

Cancellation / Rescheduling Policy

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. This means you may cancel an appointment up until 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. The fee for a cancelled appointment will be refunded (minus a £1.50 PayPal processing fee), which usually takes 4 to 5 days for PayPal to process.
Appointments cannot be cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time, and fees paid for the booking are not refunded. A 24-hour cancellation policy is the standard practice for most counselling services.
Under no circumstances will the 24-hour cancellation policy be waived — regardless of illness, transport, technical or any other circumstances that may prevent attendance.

Recording of Zoom counselling sessions

Recording of Zoom sessions is a violation of our confidentiality agreement and is strictly prohibited. Management reserves the right to suspend all counselling services to any client who records or retransmits any part of a counselling session.

Limitations of the Service
